Professor Yogesh Singh
Prof. Yogesh Singh, the 23rd Vice Chancellor of this century old University, assumed the charge of the Vice Chancellor on 8th October, 2021. He is an academician par excellence, a decisive leader with the courage to dream big and bring change, a beloved educationist who has touched the lives of innumerable number of students as well as his colleagues and peers.
‘Leadership is not about oneself; it's about investing in the growth of others.’ A quote that well expresses his passion and dedication towards the betterment of all. His leadership quality and administrative acumen and caliber has been exemplified by varied experience of leading academic institutions. He has a proven track record and experience of leading prestigious institutions of diverse nature – starting from a large size multi-faculty unitary university of forty thousand students in The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, to technology oriented distinguished and reputed institutions like Netaji Subhas University of Technology (erstwhile Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology) and Delhi Technological University.
Prof. Singh became full Professor of Computer Engineering at the age of 35 in the University School of Information and Communication Technology, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. He held many administrative responsibilities like Dean, University School of Engineering & Technology (2001-06), Dean, University School of Information and Communication Technology (2001-06), Chief Warden (2001-09), Proctor (2001-06), Director Student Welfare (2006-09), and Controller of Examinations (2006-11) of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, before becoming the 16th Vice Chancellor of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat, at the age of 45 years.
Prof. Yogesh Singh was the third Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University (July 14, 2016 to July 13, 2021) and was given a second term, which he continued up to Oct 7, 2021. He also served as the fifth Director of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi from December 31, 2014 to July 11, 2016. The Government of Delhi had given him the responsibility of these two premier institutions of the country the dual charge from Sept 23, 2015 to July 24, 2017. He was the sixteenth Vice Chancellor of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat (July 07, 2011 to July 6, 2014) and the Government of Gujarat had given him the second term, which he continued up to December 29, 2014.
Prof. Singh received M.Tech. (Electronics & Communication Engineering) and Ph.D. (Computer Engineering) degrees from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Haryana. His receptivity, comprehensibility and logical thinking provided a rich learning experience as student, which in turn has made him a true representative of the student’s welfare, who understands and connects with them and believes in a transparent administration where the door is always open to everyone.
Prof. Singh has an impressive track record of quality teaching, innovation and research in the area of Software Engineering, with ‘h’ index of 33, citation index of 3789 (reported by Google scholar as on June 18, 2022) and has supervised 23 Ph.Ds. He is listed as the third best amongst the most productive Indian authors for participating in Software Engineering Research reported in “Indian Computer Science Research Output during 1999-2008, Qualitative Analysis” Journal of Library & Information Technology, November 2010. He has more than 250 publications in International and National Journals/Conferences. His book, “Software Testing” published by Cambridge University Press, England (2011) is a well-received book nationally and internationally. He has also co-authored books on Software Engineering published by New Age International Delhi (2002), and Object Oriented Software Engineering published by PHI Learning, Delhi (2012). His exposure to various foreign universities, including those through YALE-INDIA LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME in Yale University, USA (2011), has provided him key insights into various facets of executive leadership and further honed his leadership skills.
Prof. Singh is Chairman of Governing Board of Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre, Gandhinagar, an Autonomous Inter-University Centre (IUC) of University Grants Commission, New Delhi (Ministry of Education, Government of India). He has been member of the Executive Committee of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with effect from October 03, 2019. He was appointed as Independent Director of Gujarat State Petro Net Ltd. and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporations Ltd. (Government of Gujarat Undertakings) since May, 2013 and March, 2015 respectively. He is also serving as the Additional Director (Non-Executive, Independent Director) on the Board of Director of Gujarat Gas, a tenurial post of 5 years, with effect from 15 August, 2021.
Prof. Singh was Chairman, Central Regional Committee, All India Council for Technical Education, Bhopal (2011-14). He served as Member of the General Council of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) (2012-15) and Member of the Governing Council of Association of Indian Universities (2016-17).
He has always had a holistic approach to education and an exemplary team player who has passed on his wisdom upon anyone who has crossed path with him with only one agenda, i.e. to impart knowledge. He is not just a visionary in his field but also a praiseworthy administrator. He has the courage to take decision where others hesitate, all for protecting the interest of the institution. He has done justice to all positions with such admirable grace and calmness that he is an inspiration to all.

Prof. P. C. Joshi (B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology , Delhi University). He has been the Head of the Department in Anthropology in the University of Delhi. He served as Head of the Department in various institutions like HNB Garhwal University and Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences. He was nominated Asia Coordinator of the European Union 6th Framework Microdis Integrated Project, 2007 and was a delegate of the European Union to Poznan, Poland in United Nations Framework Climate Change Conference in 2008. He is recipient of the Indira Priyadarshini Vriksha Mitra National Award as Friends of Trees founder member, 1987 and the Inter-University Centre Associateship Award in Humanities and Social Sciences, 1996-1999, Certificate of Honour at the First France-India Meet on Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, 2007, Plaque of Appreciation from Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, 2008, and Certificate of Appreciation on his research on disaster impacts in Asia and Europe by Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia in 2009, among other honours and distinctions. He was the UGC Sap Advisory Committee member for the SV University, Tirupati, Vidhyasagar University, Midnapur, Central University of Hyderabad and Karnataka University Dharwad. He was the Task Force Member, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. He has been in the panel of experts for Indian Council of Social Science Research and Member of Advisory Committee, Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. He has organized fifteen Conferences included one in the University of Hue, Vietnam in the year 2010. He is the current president of the Society for Indian Medical Anthropology, Mysore and specializes in the fields of Medical Anthropology, Himalayan Anthropology. Antibiotic Resistance and Qualitative Research Methods . His scientific publications are in the field of Medical Anthropology, Traditional Medicines, Shamanism, Impact of Disasters, Life Style Diseases and Antibiotic Resistance. Besides nine books, his papers numbering more than 150 have appeared in the journals such as World Development, The Eastern Anthropologists, Man in India, Journal of Biosocial Science, Journal of Southasian Disaster Studies, Journal of Anthropology, American Journal of Orthopsychiatry, European Academic Research, South Asian Anthropologist, Prehospital and Disaster Medicine, International Journal of Human Science, Journal of Anthropological Survey of India, Indian Journal of Medical Research, Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Values in Health, Global Health Action, Family Practice, National Medical Journal of India and many more journals. He has supervised around 30 Ph.D. and around 25 M.Phil. students.
